$5.9 million guarantee nearly doubles prize pool at record-setting event
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 8, 2025) – The BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA Resort & Casino ended with Nguyen Le capping a stunning comeback to win $777,777. Le had only one chip left with 11 players remaining but rallied to mount a remarkable comeback to beat Ashish Ghosh during heads-up play. The $3,500 BetMGM Poker Championship drew 1,853 entries and nearly doubled the $3 million guarantee with a $5.9 million total prize pool.

Le’s $777,777 win represented his largest live cash and was more than his entire total live earnings prior to the event ($658,088). In January 2025, Le won $425,000 at the Borgata Winter Poker Open Powered by BetMGM in a heads-up chop.
The BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA debuted in 2022 and has experienced exponential growth. The inaugural event had 343 entries, a $1.1 million prize pool and the winner took home $224,236. This year’s event represents the following increase from 2022 to 2025: a 440% increase in entries and a 436% increase in the prize pool. In addition, over 110 players from BetMGM Poker markets including New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario (Canada) won BetMGM Poker Championship packages that included a $3,500 Championship entry, a five-night stay at ARIA, travel credit and BetMGM swag bag.
Players can earn BetMGM Rewards Points and Tier Credits by playing at BetMGM Poker. BetMGM Rewards points can be redeemed for digital bonuses, MGM Rewards Points and Marriott Bonvoy Points.
