Winter may not be completely over yet, but the BetMGM Poker Winter Online Championships series is, indeed, over. More than 100 tournaments played out at the online poker tables in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey, and players collected shares of more than $2.5 million in prize money from February 16 through March 2.
Championship of Championships
Sure, the entire series was called the Winter Online Championships — WOC for short — but the series in Pennsylvania and the one with the shared Michigan/New Jersey player pool each hosted a championship event. Those events happened on the final Sunday of the series, which became the highest gross gaming revenue day in US regulated online poker history.
In Michigan and New Jersey, the $1,000 buy-in Championship brought in more than 200 entries and a prize pool of $225,000. In the end, Hamlet99 won it for $47,286.
And in Pennsylvania, the $1,000 Championship took in 127 entries and awarded $125,000 in cash. The final two players in the event made a deal in the end, with Lsxzp taking the title and $28,841.80 and PrisonPanther accepting second place and $28,058.20.
Winter Online Championship Leaderboard Champs
There weren’t only tournaments promising cash to players, as the WOC Leaderboard competition promised thousands more dollars to those who did well throughout the series. BetMGM Poker knows that the grinders deserve props for their dedication and hard work.
The New Jersey and Michigan leaderboard showed a clear winner and second-place finisher, and the other three in the top five fought it out for their final spots.
- 1st place: Itsallmath101 (1,535.57 points) $5,000
- 2nd place: IReadYrSoul (1,106.60 points) $2,000
- 3rd place: Johnmilly (823.48 points) $1,500
- 4th place: EunHak (818.07 points) $1,000
- 5th place: ALL4one1forALL (817.04 points) $500
In Pennsylvania, one player dominated that WOC Leaderboard contest by winning five events. (We hope he has a sizable shelf to hold those five trophies!) While zyntuition (Mike Lavin) ran away with the lead and took down his third straight Online Championships leaderboard title, the others worked hard for their final spots and bonus cash, too.
- 1st place: zyntuition (1,510.59 points) $2,500
- 2nd place: Jesushadgr8abs (1,167.35 points) $1,000
- 3rd place: Zj1393 (1,032.68 points) $750
- 4th place: Chipstealer420 (1,008.19 points) $500
- 5th place: TheBlacksmith (880.51 points) $250
Both WOC leaderboard champions also won state-of-the-art, customized computer setups, each complete with a 34” OLED ultrawide monitor, AMD Ryzen 9 9900x CPU, Asus Pro Art graphics card and motherboard, T-Force 64GB RAM, multiple Lian Li TL120 fans, 2TB of SSD storage, Lian Li Edge power supply and Vision case, and Windows 11.
Senior Manager of Poker Operations Dave Mileaf had a few words about the unique gaming computer prizes: “We understand the importance of having the capability to play multiple tables, so this computer is designed for everyone from the tournament grinder to cash game specialist. The 9900x CPU will hold up to the most demanding sessions, and the 4080 graphics card ensures the players can run up to four monitors with ease at the highest quality settings. Of course, we add the BetMGM touch with our logos on the cooler and fans for good luck!”
WOC Doesn’t Disappoint
Some of the biggest names in East Coast poker took part in the 2025 Winter Online Championships. BetMGM Poker Ambassador Darren Elias finished six spots from the money in the Championship, while two-time Online Hybrid tournament winner Brian Wood finished third, as well as third in the Super High Roller.
Will O’Connor, Senior Manager of Poker Marketing, noted, “BetMGM Poker followed our early omni-channel success by offering online players their first million-dollar series of the year in February, and the Winter Online Championships did not disappoint. The series featured over 100 events and awarded close to $3,000,000 in total prize money, making this Online Championships edition one of the biggest in BetMGM history.”
With the conclusion of the WOC, players might notice that new special events are already listed in the BetMGM online poker client. You can view details and sign up at BetMGM Poker online. Stay tuned for information about this March Mania series, which looks to be the largest yet.
