Here are some important numbers: 3, 15, 21, and 70. I’ll explain. (And no, this isn’t heatstroke kicking in after a very hot summer.)
Three (3) stands for three million, as in $3,000,000 guaranteed.
Fifteen (15) is the number of days in an upcoming online poker series.
Twenty-one (21) is the day in September that the action begins – Sunday, September 21.
Seventy (70) represents the number of tournaments in the series.
This is the 2025 BetMGM Poker Online Championships in a nutshell. Beginning on September 21, the online tournament series will kick off its 70-event schedule. There will be 15 days of nonstop poker tournaments with more than $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize money on the line.
Biggest and Best for BetMGM Poker
This is going to be the biggest Online Championships that BetMGM Poker has hosted to date, and it will be – dare we say – the best yet. It is the first time that this series will welcome players from three states to the tables at the same time, and it will set the standard for poker series to come.
Last year, BetMGM hosted its Online Championships in November and boasted of 58 tournaments for Michigan and New Jersey players and another 58 for Pennsylvania. In April 2025, however, Pennsylvania joined the party via the multi-state shared liquidity agreement, and players from three states have been competing at the same tables for the last few months. For this year’s Online Championships, there will be just one schedule for all, one set of bigger guarantees and an overall larger player pool. And we’re so excited about it that we had to schedule it early this year: September 21 to October 5, 2025.
The added bonus for players is that there are more than a month’s worth of satellites running for the series. In fact, they’re available now.
BetMGM Poker Online Championships Details
The basics are simple.
- What: 2025 BetMGM Poker Online Championships
- When: September 21 to October 5, 2025
- How many: 70 tournaments
- How much: $3,000,000 guaranteed
For 15 days, the tables on BetMGM Poker will be abuzz with players competing from New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The lucrative nature of the series is already prompting poker players who don’t live in those states to make arrangements to travel there to play, since physical location in one of these three states while playing is the legal requirement.
Series Overview
Of the 70 tournaments on the BetMGM Poker Online Championships schedule, the majority of them are No Limit Hold’em in some variation, whether turbo or progressive knockout, deepstack or six-max. But there are 14 Omaha events, ranging from PLO to No Limit and PKO to PLO-8.
The buy-ins range from $25 (such as the $25 Sunday Quarter) to $2,500 (which is the mid-series Super High Roller). While there are seven high roller options in total that span $500 to $2,500 for buy-ins, the majority of the tournaments are in the $100 to $250 middle ground, with the $100 buy-in daily C-Note as the most familiar to most players.
Every event carries a prize pool guarantee, with several of them offering six figures. For example:
-
- Event 2: $250 buy-in Sunday Main ($100,000 guaranteed)
- Event 3: $1,000 buy-in Six Figure Sunday ($300,000 guaranteed)
- Event 33: $250 buy-in Sunday Main ($100,000 guaranteed)
- Event 34: $2,500 buy-in Super High Roller ($300,000 guaranteed)
- Event 64: $250 buy-in Sunday Main ($100,000 guaranteed)
- Event 65: $1,000 buy-in Championship ($400,000 guaranteed)
The highlighted Championship above – technically the Online Championships Championship, which rolls right off the tongue – is the Main Event of the series. This means there will be many, many qualifiers running from now until then. In fact, there will be satellites for everything.
Online Championships Qualifiers Running Now
The Online Championships schedule is in the BetMGM Poker tournament lobby now, easiest to find under the “Special Events” tab. This is also the best way to find satellites for any event for which you want to win a seat. Simply double-click on the tournament of interest, click on the “Satellites” tab of that event, and all options are listed there.
Another way to find general satellites for the Online Championships is through the “Special Events” main tournament lobby. Choose “Satellites” as the category, and then click on any column to sort by, for example, buy-in amounts or start dates. To focus solely on Online Championships opportunities, type “OC” in the search bar.
Step Satellites
The Step satellite system is the chosen method of qualifying for most players. They can start at any of three steps to work their way into a tournament seat. For example, there are satellites in the lobby running now for the $1,000 buy-in Six Figure Sunday, the first of which is set for
- Step 1: $1 qualifiers to win $10 Step 2 tickets
- Step 2: $10 qualifiers to win $100 Step 3 tickets
- Step 3: $100 qualifiers to win $1,000 seats
It appears that Step 1 qualifiers run on demand, while Steps 2 and 3 are available at least once every evening.
Standard Satellites
Without going through the Step process, there are direct satellites of all kinds. For Event 1, the satellites tab shows multiple options per day for $5 or $10, all guaranteeing tickets to the $100 buy-in event. They are hyper turbos and operate mostly in the evening hours. For Event 2, qualifiers start at just $25 to win seats to the $250 buy-in tournament.
Keep in mind that more satellites are being added daily. They will run through October 5, which is the final day and the day of the $1,000 Championship, which will offer more qualifiers than any other event.
More to Come
Stay tuned for more qualifiers to be announced and for associated promotions. As the series nears its start date of September 21, there will be daily chances to win seats at a fraction of the buy-ins.
