Registration Is Now Open Online for the Inaugural Lions of the Atlantic Tournament

A wise woman once said, “You’re gonna hear me roar.” Now, Katy Perry wasn’t talking about the Lions of the Atlantic poker tournament, as it wasn’t yet conceived when she released her song “Roar,” but at BetMGM Poker events it applies all the same.

The Lions of the Atlantic is a new concept that combines online poker and live tournament poker across two casinos. Powered by BetMGM Poker, the new Lions of the Atlantic is a single tournament but one with many opportunities to get involved.

What is the Lions of the Atlantic poker tournament?

This is a new concept put into motion by two giants in the live casino arena and one online poker giant in the US market. Lions of the Atlantic is powered by BetMGM Poker and combines live poker at MGM National Harbor and Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa with numerous starting flights, many online satellites, and a finale at Borgata that fans will want to follow.

Live Portion of Lions of the Atlantic

The most prominent part of the Lions of the Atlantic tournament is the 14 live starting flights. The tournament is a $600 buy-in affair with a $2,000,000 guarantee on the prize pool. That’s impressive in and of itself.

Players can play any and all of the flights, even if they bag chips, as they then take their biggest bag forward to Day 2. And there are seven flights at each of two properties on the East Coast in which to participate:

Survivors will then gather at one place – Borgata – on October 18 at 11:15 am, already in the money but with the goal of reaching the final table. The action will then play to a winner on October 19, starting at 12:15 pm.

Online Component of the Lions of the Atlantic tournament

Best of all, players have been qualifying for less than the $600 buy-in by playing in the satellites available on BetMGM Poker online. They now have a shot at winning a share of the prize pool that will total at least $2,000,000. While those satellites are over online, there are live satellites running at the live venues starting at just $100.

Don’t forget that players on BetMGM Poker can register for the Borgata part of the tournament online for just $570. It’s a great way to skip the line, use your online funds to buy in, and then just show up at Borgata when you’re ready to play.

Packing Bags for Day 2

We already mentioned that Day 2 of the tournament will be on Saturday, October 18. Players who bagged on any Day 1 flight will already be in the money portion of the tournament and have their eyes on the final table. But there’s an added bonus, courtesy of Borgata.

All players who have a bag to open on Day 2 receive free accommodations at Borgata. Yes, that means a free two-night stay! So, when you bag your Day 1 chips from any of the flights at Borgata, you’ll receive an invitation to stay at Borgata on Friday night, October 17, and Saturday night, October 18. This ensures you will be fresh for Day 2 action and for Day 3 as well.

Best of luck to everyone!
