MGM National Harbor Potomac Winter Poker Open Schedule

The annual Potomac Winter Poker Open schedule is set, and it details a total of 23 trophy tournaments with $1,730,000 in guarantees across the board. Buy-ins range from $250 to $3,000, and the offerings include everything from bounties to mixed games, as well as a tag team event, two seniors-only events, and a charity tournament.

Many of the tournaments offer guarantees for their prize pools, with the largest reserved for player favorites and the Main Event:

• Event 1 (Feb 11-15):  $600 buy-in NLH Opener with 7 flights and $500,000 guaranteed
• Event 10 (Feb 17-19):  $600 buy-in Monumental Stacks with 2 flights and $100,000 guaranteed
• Event 16 (Feb 20-23):  $3,000 buy-in NLH Main Event with 2 flights and $750,000 guaranteed

Poker players who want to take their skills to the live tables early or play live qualifiers can do so at MGM National Harbor in a couple of different ways.

Milestone Satellites Starting February 11

National Harbor will run numerous milestone satellites in the tournament area of the casino during the Potomac Winter Poker Open. Players can qualify for seats to larger tournaments through discounted satellite events. For example, the milestone satellites for Event 1 cost $150 to win a $600 seat, and Main Event milestones cost just $260 to win seats worth $3,000 each. 

There will also be a few Main Event super satellites February 17-19, which will offer $250 buy-ins and $140 rebuys with five (5) Main Event seats guaranteed in each.

Milestone satellites are different from traditional satellites, and both are offered for players of varying preferences. Normal satellites set the prize pool based on the number of players who enter, determining how many seats will be available, and the satellites then play down to that number. Milestones, on the other hand, set a chip count goal based on the number of players and seats available. When players hit that chip total – or milestone – they automatically win a seat.

Race to the Potomac Winter Poker Open is Underway

From regulars to those who want to put in hours of practice before the series, the Race to the PWPO is for everyone. Put in 150 hours between now and February 10 at the cash game tables (tracked via the Bravo poker app) to qualify to win one of five (5) Main Event seats worth $3,000 each. The ten (10) players with the most hours logged through February 10 will automatically win their Main Event seats.

Pride of the Lions Freeroll on February 11

Who doesn’t love a freeroll? The Pride of the Lions Freeroll tournament offers free entry to this tournament for any player who competed in the 2025 PWPO or PPO series. Simply show proof of paid entries from either of those series and show up at noon on February 11 to play. There will be optional $20 add-ons available. And the prize pool will contain three (3) Main Event seats worth $3,000 each, three (3) Event 14 seats worth $1,100 each, and three (3) Opener seats worth $600 each.

The dates for these qualifiers are February 9 (Monday), February 11 (Wednesday), and February 13 (Friday), as the last flight runs on February 14.
