You might have heard about summer poker in Las Vegas. You might have also heard about the BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA this summer, with its $3,000,000 guarantee and the many ways to qualify online for $5,000 prize packages. We may have mentioned it a few times because, well, it’s difficult to contain our excitement!
One of us is particularly excited. BetMGM Poker Ambassador Abby Merk – aka Abby Poker – is putting all types of plans in place for the summer. She’s getting ready to pack as much fun as she can into poker summer camp, from playing tournaments and cash games to hosting her own meetup games.
Abby Poker Meetup Games Tour
A meetup game – or MUG – is a way for poker players to get to know the influencers and ambassadors they see online. Whether on social media, videos, clips, or memes, the poker community typically sees people like Abby from a distance. MUGs give everyone a chance to meet in person, splash around at the poker tables, and get to know each other a little better.
Abby is always meeting other players in tournaments and cash games, but she’s ready to set some specific MUG dates to make those meetings official. And since the BetMGM Poker Championship is still many weeks in the future, she is going to start her MUG tour in May!
Borgata Meetup Games
A trip to Borgata in Atlantic City is in the cards for Abby, as she will be there for the Pure Grind Series: Minor Mystery Bounty Edition. The tournament offers five starting flights May 7-9 for the $350 buy-in tournament with a $200,000 guarantee. It’s not clear which flight(s) Abby will play, but she will be there for the entire event and host a MUG in the poker room on May 8.
Detroit Meetup Games
Michiganders, Abby will be checking out MGM Grand Detroit’s poker room on May 18 and hosting a MUG that evening for all players who want to splash around in some cash games. She will announce more details as the date nears.
Las Vegas Meetup Games
By the beginning of June, Abby will be in Las Vegas, and she will be playing poker at various MGM properties. The tentative plan is that she will host a MUG every Sunday at some location around town, with her final one being at ARIA on Sunday, June 29.
